Somehow the process, the right of LAS photo distribution was owned by the archive photo company, Bettman Archive. The fact that the photographer named Charles Ebbets acquired after a photo research firm doing the research because of curiosity of a few fans for the status “anonym” on the original LAS photo. From the hundreds of negative photos owned Bettman, finally found the same theme from variety of photographs of skyscrapers with Ebbets’s photographs at that time.

LAS Photo was made by Ebbets to tell the developing of several skyscrapers construction in New York which was vigorous at the time.  The altitude of making these photos are on 69th the floor of the RCA building at Rockefeller Center area. In 1986 the building changed its name to the General Electric building.

Charles Clyde Ebbets was born in Gadsden, Alabama, USA in 1905. Since the age of 8 years he has had the camera for his very large interest in the field of photography.  His photography career began at age 20 years with being a photographer in Florida. In the 1930s, he became President of Miami Press Photographer Association. Ebbets also is one of the founders of City of Miami Publicity Bureau. Over 17 years, he also became an editor of the daily photography of City of Miami.

Like many a photographer commonly, Ebbets never know which one of his photos that will become famous or well liked. But he was very proud of the series of Indian photos that he made over many months wanderings in the Indian hinterland.

Ebbets died on July 14, 1978, because of cancer. For his  LAS photo, he received an award at the Photo East Expo in New York.
